By using DegreeOS.ai (“DegreeOS,” “we,” “our”), you agree to these Terms. If you disagree with any part, discontinue use.

1. Service description

DegreeOS is an AI-assisted credential acceleration platform. It provides study materials, flashcards, practice questions, an AI advisor named Merit, and progress tracking for CLEP, DSST, TECEP, and listed professional certifications. DegreeOS is an independent service; it is not affiliated with the College Board, Prometric, or any college or certification issuer named in the platform.

2. Account eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. Users under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian confirm account creation. Users under 13 are not permitted.

3. AI advisor (“Merit”)

Merit is an AI assistant that generates responses based on user input and the DegreeOS knowledge base. Merit's output is informational, not authoritative. Merit does not provide tax, legal, medical, financial, or immigration advice. Any factual claim should be independently verified. You agree not to rely on Merit for decisions requiring a licensed professional.

4. User content

You retain ownership of content you upload (transcripts, receipts, testimonials, imported flashcards). By uploading, you grant DegreeOS a limited license to process, store, and display the content as necessary to provide the service. Approved testimonials may be displayed publicly with your first name only unless you request otherwise.

5. Subscription and payment

Paid plans renew automatically at the interval selected (monthly or annual) until canceled. You may cancel at any time; cancellation stops future charges but does not refund the current period except under the Refund Policy. Prices may change with at least 30 days' notice.

6. Intellectual property

DegreeOS owns the platform, software, flashcard sets, practice questions, and other proprietary content. Exam names (CLEP, DSST, TECEP) and certification names are trademarks of their respective owners; we reference them for descriptive purposes only.

7. Prohibited use

See our Acceptable Use Policy. Violations may result in suspension or termination of your account without refund.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

The service is provided “as is” without warranty of any kind. DegreeOS does not guarantee you will pass any exam, earn any credit, or graduate. Results depend on your effort and external factors outside our control.

9. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, DegreeOS is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from use of the service. Total liability in any dispute is limited to fees paid in the prior 12 months.

10. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be announced via email or in-app notice at least 14 days before effective date. Continued use after effective date constitutes acceptance.

11. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Tennessee, USA, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Exclusive jurisdiction is in state or federal courts located in Davidson County, Tennessee.
